Yahoo’s New Search Assist Feature

Posted by: Rohen In: Internet| Online Business| SEO

Yahoo announced on their blog the appearance of their new Search Assist feature embedded in Yahoo Search. The purpose is to make sure people find what their looking for without having to do multiple searches over and over again. Yahoo’s benefit is less stress on their servers when frustrated users re do their searches a number of times without going past the next page.

When you type in the search box, Yahoo! Search Assist predicts what you’re searching for and offers you suggestions.

This is similar to the feature of misspelled words, except it is now shown with Flash and also shows additional possible search terms.

Not a bad idea by Yahoo. Apparently the Windows Live Search Team is also working on some improvements to the Engine, with the Major Addition being something called “Blended Search.”

From Web Certain:

results pages which will now display a range of results for search queries such as videos, blogs and images

**COUGH… Reminds me of Google… Anyone?

I personally always use Google… I never ever use anything else. This is good info though I wonder if Google will follow in their footsteps…
