What’s the benefit of having a Multilingual Site? Well, the most obvious is that you get international Traffic! Who wouldn’t want that? I’ll tell you who, Bloggers! Who can really rake in the benefits of multilingual sites? The ones with fixed content, or content that doesn’t get added that often. Multilingual SEO can benefit anyone, but it really shines on certain type of websites.
Sites such as small e-commerce stores can find it incredibly beneficial in finding customers from different parts of the world. Other sites that offer a service such as Costa Del Sol Torremolinos Hotels also benefit immensely from Multilingual SEO. Websites that mainly focus on an International audience will find it incredibly profitable in investing in a multilingual website.

One of the biggest pains when doing SEO work is handling Dreamweaver Templates, especially when it’s chock full of JavaScript. For one thing it’s just not clean coding. Dreamweaver templates add in a ridiculous amount of unneeded coding for websites, making your SEO fine tuning a little more complicated when you’re not familiar with them. This post is basically designed as a guide to help you understand SEO from a DW template perspective.
2008 starts off with a brand new client from Barcelona. They came to SEOM for Italian Link Building and Directory Submissions. Seems like a great way to start off the year on my end.
Our MOS (Multilingual Optimizer Specialists) is 100% fluent in Italian, thereby providing quality work for a decent price. One of the things about Italian SEO is that there just aren’t that many oportunities for an on going SEO campaign. You would have to look deep and hard to even find Directories that allow Italian Submissions.
Another client for SEO work. This client asked for On page optimization ONLY. For the off page we trained one employee for basic site promotion, which means one way link exchange e-mails and directory submission and understanding what PR is and how to know what PR site a potential link partner has. Training only took 3 days, and taws’ a fairly simple tutorial. This is a very short project, so basic SEO work will only take about a month.
This site, created about 7 -8 years ago, has more than a thousand errors noted by the W3C validation service. Sadly, whoever created this site apparently used Microsoft Office. This was a very, very bad idea. Not only that, but it’s also missing META tags and a DOC type in every page, and its mainly imaged based, which for SEO purposes, it also not good.
Keyword optimization is no biggie; their aim is for small time keywords. This contract started two weeks ago. So far every error has been fixed. Now the on page SEO work begins. META tags, DOC type, adding quality keyword content, alt tags etc… Everything is done in Spanish, as they are a local client.
Last, but not least, is their hosting. They are signing on for our Hosting, which is free for the duration of the contract, and every month there after there’s a monthly fee. Our Hosting is moderately affordable and feature packed. The only thing we tend to limit is HD space used, everything else is unlimited. Unlimited Domains, Sub domains, Bandwidth, e-mail accounts, MySQL and tons of programming scripts allowed as well.
Funny thing, I met the guy who created this site in their office. He turned out to be a dentist. The web design was hobby and he did it as a favor. My client was extremely amused at how I met the guy, seeing as though I was putting down their site for bad design.
Client: You’ve been talking so bad about our web site (joking), well here’s the guy who made it for us.
Dentist: Hi, it’s a pleasure I’m Mauricio.
Me: (long pause, I look at the guy in a dentist suit, then I look back at my client and then at the dentist and say…) Your kidding me!!!
All: HAHAHA
This is my personal blog about Multilingual SEO and Web Design, and of course random stuff about myself.
