Vapaeso

This is based on Google’s Webmaster Blog entry on August 02 of 2007. Whenever performing a search, Google takes into account two things: The Top Level Domain and the IP Address of a website.

As Shashi from Google explains:

“.co.uk ” domains are likely very relevant for user queries originating from the UK. In the absence of a significant top-level domain, we often use the web server’s IP address as an added hint in our understanding of content.

In the event that a website is a top level domain with the extension .com, the second attribute used by the Search Engine is the IP Address for the website.

Therefore location of a web server has a HUGE IMPACT on search queries. This means, that in order to fully optimize a website for multilingual SEO, it is extremely important to think about the physical location of the website.

Most of the visitors to this Blog come from the US, because my server is located in one of the states. Guess which one…

Google’ PR Update

Posted by: Rohen In: SEO

Google’ PR UpdateLooks like Google is at it again. Apparently there are reports that some well known site’s PR has gone down today. Yaro’s blog went from a PR 6 to a 5.

Let me tell you what Google is really doing, based on stuff I’ve read on forums. The sites that are really being hit are the ones that are selling links. In other words, if site A (seller) let’s you put a link of your site (buyer) on their site, then Site A is going to be affected by Google’s targeted update. Not everyone is suffering a PR decrease.

Again, based on speculation and reports from other sites, only the sites that are participating in link exchanges are targeted. This would, in turn, affect the site it’s also linking too.

Basically, this is all an effort to decrease the link juice some websites offer to others. This blog of mine, at the time of writing this post, is a PR N/A. So it sure as heck won’t be affected by this update.

Pagerank is an important asset to Google. How many high authority sites have low PR? None! There are lots of companies that rely on PR for evaluating websites for market value. It’s only natural that Google would do their best to try and protect one of their most important technologies. I’m all for it, Google is an incredible company. (No I don’t work there.)

What is Multilingual SEO?

Posted by: Rohen In: Multilingual SEO| SEO| Web Design

Ok so I’ve been doing this for about 8 months now, so I can’t really call myself a full fledged expert just yet. My skills are great for English and Spanish SEO. For the other languages I work with partners, in order to provide the best possible service.

I know that most of you know what SEO is, and if you don’t I suggest you go and look it up in Wikipedia like real quick. But how many of you have heard of Multilingual SEO? What the HECK is that??? Well all right I’ll try my best to answer that question based on the experience I’ve had up to this point. I’m going by some of the stuff Andy has posted in a couple of forums and on his newsletter. Here goes…

VAPAESO IN STYLE!

Posted by: Rohen In: Blogging| Vapaeso

Well the new look is done… I have updated the Theme into one that is optimized for SEO and has error free CSS. So I am back to posting anything related to my field of profession… or maybe just random stuff about Italian Food. WHO KNOWS!

PASTA

Just a small though about the subject. My Father just came back from Italy and brought back tons of Pasta and aged Cheese of 12 months. Odd though no matter how much I eat I can never gain weight. I guess that’s something to be relieved for, since I won’t be going to Doctor because my Heart is shooting through the roof whenever I go up or down the stairs.

S.E.O

The first thing that Search Engines will see is the title “VAPAESO International Search Engine Optimization and Web Design.” I though long and hard about including the name “VAPAESO.” But I can’t just leave it out, it’s part of my domain… We’ll see if it changes.

  • Ustinov: It has long been looking for this information, Thank you for your work.
